Hardwood and Engineered Wood Flooring

Engineered Wood
Engineered wood flooring is built in layers. This makes it more resistant to changes in temperatures so you don’t encounter the expansion and contraction like you would with solid hardwood.
Where Can Engineered Wood be Installed?
Engineered hardwood flooring can be installed in any room of the home, whether it’s over a concrete slab, wood subfloor, or over existing vinyl.
Floating Engineered Wood Installation
You have different installation methods you can choose from as well to install your engineered hardwood flooring. One of those methods is to float the engineered wood using a tongue and groove adhesive which will hold the floor together. This method also requires an underlayment to deaden the foot traffic noise of your floating floor. This is very user friendly for the DIY home owner.
Glue Down Engineered Wood Installation
Glue downs are installed by using a trowel to spread the adhesive over a concrete slab. Usually professionals will measure out three feet or enough for twelve rows to cover, using a three inch wide board as an example. Each and every individual board is placed one at a time into the adhesive until the glued area is covered. Once completed, another area is marked and laid.
Nail Down Engineered Hard
Nailing down wood floors is the most common installation method. Unfortunately for those of us who are living on concrete slabs, we only have the option to glue down or float the floor over the slab. If you happen to have a wood subfloor, the process involves nailing or stapling the engineered wood flooring directly to the wood subfloor. Typically, it is installed by blind-nailing the material through the tongue of the floorboards into the wooden subfloor. This way, the nails are not visible after the flooring is installed.

Vinyl Flooring Installation

Vinyl has come a long way over the last several years. With Luxury Vinyl you no longer have sheets of vinyl; you now have individual planks imitating actual hardwood flooring. Some of the Luxury Vinyl we offer even imitates actual tile and stone. The realistic wood or tile-like flooring is perfect for both residential and commercial use.

Where can Luxury Vinyl be installed?

Luxury Vinyl can be installed in any room of the home, whether it’s over a concrete slab, wood subfloor, or over existing vinyl.

Installation of Luxury Vinyl

We offer vinyl floors that can be floated as well as glued down. Some of our vinyl tiles are square edge, which means they have to be glued down because they do not come with a locking mechanism. Other vinyl tiles and plank come with a locking mechanism, which requires no glue and is very user friendly for the DIY home owner.

Floating Luxury Vinyl

You have different installation methods you can choose from as well to install your vinyl flooring. One of those methods is to float the vinyl using perimeter glue while the rest of the floor is free floating. Other vinyl tiles we carry have a locking mechanism which interlocks the planks together, therefore, eliminating the perimeter glue. This is very user friendly for the DIY home owner.

Glue Down Luxury Vinyl

Vinyl can also be glued down entirely. Luxury Vinyl glue downs are installed by using a trowel to spread the adhesive over a concrete slab. Usually professionals will measure out three feet or enough for twelve rows to cover, using a three inch wide plank as an example. Each and every individual plank is placed one at a time into the adhesive until the glued area is covered. Once completed, another area is marked and laid.
